LASIK FAQ

LASIK FAQ

How will I know LASIK is right for me?

If you are nearsighted, farsighted, or have astigmatism then you are a candidate for LASIK. You will need to consult with a doctor to ensure LASIK is optimal. If it isn’t, The Eye Center has alternate surgery options that can meet your unique needs.

How long does it take?

The procedure is usually done within 20 minutes, and patients are generally able to return to work the next day.

Will it hurt?

You will feel slight pressure, but the surgery is painless due to numbing eye drops. Post-surgery there may be slight discomfort which can be managed with the eye drops your doctor will provide.

LASIK FAQ

Can LASIK positively affect my life?

Absolutely, it will not only improve your vision, which can improve your quality of life, but also save money because you will no longer need to rely on contacts, eyeglasses, or other related products.

Am I able to drive immediately after surgery?

No. Your vision can be blurred, and you will need to temporarily wear eye shields to protect your eyes. Recovery time is generally swift, and you should be able to resume normal activities rather quickly. To have your recovery go as smoothly as possible, it is important to closely follow your doctor’s post-surgery instructions.

Improved vision can literally be the beginning of a new outlook on life. As with all our appointments and procedures, we will strive to ensure your surgery goes efficiently and comfortably.
