Dr. R. Keith Stevens, M.D.

Board Certified Ophthalmologist

Specializing in Glaucoma Management and Comprehensive Eye Care

Dr. R. Keith Stevens is a board-certified ophthalmologist with advanced fellowship training in glaucoma. He specializes in the treatment of glaucoma, as well as comprehensive ophthalmic care.

A native of California, Dr. Stevens graduated with highest honors from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine. He completed his internship in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and went on to pursue ophthalmology residency training at the University of Michigan, one of the nation’s leading academic programs.

Following residency, Dr. Stevens completed a glaucoma fellowship at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA—an internationally recognized center for ophthalmic excellence.

Dr. Stevens has been certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1996. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. With a reputation for thoughtful, patient-centered care, Dr. Stevens brings decades of experience and advanced expertise to The Eye Center.

Dr. Darren Malone, M.D.

Board Certified Ophthalmologist

Specializing in cataract surgery and comprehensive ophthalmology

Dr. Darren Malone is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a proud native of Cherokee, Alabama. He earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama, graduating Cum Laude. He went on to attend the University of Alabama School of Medicine, where he received the prestigious Sarah F. Davis Award, recognizing the best all-around medical student in his class.

Dr. Malone completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at the respected Jones Eye Institute in Arkansas. He has been certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 2011 and brings years of experience and expertise to the care of his patients.

With a strong foundation in engineering and a passion for precision medicine, Dr. Malone is committed to delivering exceptional eye care tailored to each individual’s needs.

Dr. Walter J. Hubickey, D.O.

Board Certified Ophthalmologist

Refractive Surgery Specialist and comprehensive ophthalmology

Dr. Walter J. Hubickey joined The Eye Center Surgeons and Associates in 2011 after serving over six years as the Director of Refractive Surgery at the Huntsville Center for Sight. During his tenure, he performed thousands of successful laser vision correction procedures, treating patients from across the Tennessee Valley and beyond.

Dr. Hubickey’s experience in refractive surgery is both extensive and unique. In 2000, while serving in the U.S. Army, he pioneered the War-Fighter Refractive Eye Surgery Program at Fort Bragg, North Carolina—the first of its kind. His initiative became one of the most successful combat readiness eye surgery programs within the U.S. Department of Defense.

A former U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret, Dr. Hubickey built strong military relationships that helped transform his interest in refractive surgery into a mission-critical service for active-duty personnel. His clinical expertise and contributions to military ophthalmology have earned him invitations to present at national conferences and meetings. He has also published two articles on refractive surgery in the prestigious Journal of Ophthalmology.

Originally from Philadelphia, Dr. Hubickey earned his pharmacy degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He continued his medical education and surgical training at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. His post-graduate training included a comprehensive internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Dr. Hubickey is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1994 and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Medical Association, and the Madison County Medical Society.

P. Adam Frederick, M.D.

Board Certified Ophthalmologist

Specializing in Cataract Surgery, Cornea & Anterior Segment, and Comprehensive Eye Care

Dr. Frederick has been serving patients at The Eye Center Surgeons and Associates since August 2016. He specializes in cataract surgery, corneal disease, anterior segment surgery, and general ophthalmology.
 
A Huntsville native, Dr. Frederick graduated Magna Cum Laude from Birmingham-Southern College with a degree in Biology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), followed by residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. He then completed advanced fellowship training in cornea and refractive surgery at the University of Utah’s Moran Eye Center.
 
Dr. Frederick is dedicated to providing high-quality, personalized eye care to patients across North Alabama. He offers expertise in managing complex corneal conditions, performing advanced cataract procedures, and delivering comprehensive vision care.

Robert C. Foster, M.D.

Comprehensive Ophthalmologist

Specializing in cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and eyelid surgery

Dr. Foster, a native of Decatur, Alabama, is a proud graduate of Mississippi State University and the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Since joining The Eye Center in 2019, Dr. Foster has been dedicated to serving the North Alabama community as a comprehensive ophthalmologist. He provides expert care for a wide range of eye conditions and is known for delivering exceptional surgical outcomes. His areas of specialization include cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and eyelid procedures.

Dr. Foster is particularly recognized for his expertise in advanced technology lens implants, offering patients the most current surgical options to enhance visual outcomes and quality of life.

Danielle L. Turner O.D.

Board Certified Optometrist

Dr. Turner was born and raised in Denton, Texas, and earned her undergraduate degree in Pre-Professional Biology from the University of West Florida, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. During her time at UAB, she gained hands-on experience managing a wide range of eye conditions through several clinical rotations focused on ocular disease. 

Dr. Danielle Turner is a full-scope optometrist. She earned her BS in Pre-Professional Biology from the University of West Florida and her Doctor of Optometry from UAB School of Optometry. Dr. Turner specializes in ocular diseases and neuro-optometry, including scleral and multifocal contact lenses. She enjoys hiking, church activities, and spending time with her dog.
